U.S. SENATE COMMITTEE PASSES ITS VERSION OF ORPHAN WORKS BILLOn May 16th the U.S. Senate Judiciary committee passed its amended version of the Orphan Works bill (S.2913). The House committee is holding closed door hearing on May 21st to consider revisions to their bill (H.R. 5889). Photographer associations are urging their members to contact their senators, congressmen, and the U.S. Copyright Office to voice their concerns and urge that the process be slowed to allow more opinions to be heard.
