Upcoming Events

Copyright Session  - Wednesday, May 21, 2008  6:30 - 9:00 pm

ASPP New England has arranged for speakers from Artists Rights Society and Copyright Clearance Center to answer all your questions about text and visual arts copyright.

        Copyright Clearance Center

Copyright Clearance Center is the world's largest provider of text licensing services. These services, combined with CCC's Web-based applications and tools, allow tens of millions of people in corporations, universities, law firms and government agencies to lawfully use and share published information with ease. Since its founding as a not-for-profit company in 1978, CCC has created and expanded the markets and systems that facilitate content reuse and the distribution of royalties to publishers and authors around the world. By offering rights to millions of the world's most sought-after publications, the company plays a major role in the global knowledge economy and encourages support for the principles of copyright.

The Copyright Central section of copyright.com provides tools and resources to help content users gain a better understanding of U.S. copyright law and promote a culture of copyright compliance.
Copyright Clearance Center's Beyond the Book program explores issues facing the information content industry and helps creative professionals realize the full potential of their works, while encouraging respect for intellectual property and the principles of copyright.

Artists Rights Society - Janet Hicks Guest Speaker

Artists Rights Society (ARS) is the preeminent copyright, licensing, and monitoring organization for visual artists in the United States. Founded in 1987, ARS represents the intellectual property rights interests of over 30,000 visual artists and estates of visual artists from around the world (painters, sculptors, photographers, architects and others).

ARS' membership derives from two sources. First, ARS represents American artists who become its direct adherents and it represents foreign artists who are members of affiliated arts organizations abroad.
