In 2006 ASPP launched its Mentoring Program entitled “Expose Yourself to Careers in the Photo and Visual Media Industry”, and the program contines today.

The program goal is to provide a forum for college-level photography students to rub shoulders with photo professionals and learn about picture professional career choices... the opportunities in our trade.

Our Mentoring Program sends a panel of ASPP members into a given school or educational environment to provide students with concrete information and advice about finding a direction and how they can expand their photographic abilities or interests. Our panels typically include representatives of several professional disciplines, including professional photographers.

The Program is administered through ASPP local chapters, and has been held in Chicago, Washington D.C., New York and New England. Initial sponsorship was provided by Image Source, and by Chase Jarvis.
