Townsend Dickinson

dickinson headshot150x175Townsend Dickinson is an executive-level manager specializing in the acquisition of photography for use in educational textbooks and related products. He is an accomplished photographer, photo editor, photo researcher and executive specializing in education orientated editorial photography. From 1991 to 2009, Townsend worked for the School Education Group at McGraw-Hill ending his career as Executive Manager of Macmillan and Glencoe’s photo teams. His photographs have been widely used in publications including Audubon, Natural History, National Geographic, Newsweek and Time magazines. Townsend is ASPP’s past New York Chapter President and National President. He is a founding member of the North American Nature Photographer Association (NANPA) and is active in several local scientific organizations. He has lectured and written articles on the business of photography, has appeared as an expert witness on copyright law and provides professional photo collection evaluations for estate tax purposes.
